B.A in Film Directing at the Polish National Film School in Lodz, Poland. Her shorts have been screened and awarded around the world. PEACE TALK, BIRTHDAY and ON SUFFOCATION were all selected for The Sundance Film Festival in 2007, 2010 and 2013. The latter received the ”Swedish Oscar” Guldbagge for Best Short of 2013. Jenifer Malmqvist's films have been described as realism infused with the absurdism and surrealism of everyday life. Her latest short MY WORLD IN YOURS had its Swedish premiere at the Gothemburg Film Festival 2019.

SOFIA

When her father passes away, Sofia 30 puts her energy on getting back the house of her childhood. To find money to buy it she bets on horses. Her old gambling habit goes out of hand and she jeopardizes her closest relations to her girlfriend Kassandra and her daughter Maja. She is on the verge of loosing everything by avoiding the pain and confrontation with her passed. She needs to break a tradition of parents behaving like kids and kids taking the role of parents in order to keep Maja and Kassandra
