What we need? 

  • Project synopsis (1 page max)

  • A treatment or outline (1 to 10 pages max)

  • Visual references (if available)

  • Bios & CV of the team involved in the project (2 pages per person max)

  • Links to previous audio-visual works and showreel (if available)*

  • Let us know why you would like to attend The Write Retreat? (1 paragraph)

  • Please clearly indicate if you are applying with a script ortreatment.

Who can apply?

Committed filmmakers, screenwriters and directors from all over the world with a feature film or serialized drama project in development or an artistic project of any form intended for moving image, and/or dramatic performance.

​

Ideally you are up against a deadline, in between drafts or need dedicated time with your co-writer, director or producer and you are in need of insightful feedback, and dedicated guidance for your project

​

The Write Retreat Includes: 

  • Script consultation with Gyula Gazdag and Trey Ellis

  • Project consultation with Savina Neirotti 

  • Inspirational walks & talks with Franklin Leonard and Marietta von Hausswolff von Baumgarten

  • Ground transportation from Palma de Mallorca (city center) to Finca Fangar

  • Lodging in a beautiful cozy en-suite room to yourself (with a fire place)

  • Incredible environment where you can always find your writing space 

  • Brainstorming sessions, inspirational talks. 

  • Wholesome & delicious meals (breakfast, lunch and Dinner) made with local produce and love by Deborah's  Culinary Island

  • Hikes in the scenic Mallorcan landscape, beach trips and refreshing swims in the Mediterranean sea

Things to consider​

  • Shortlisted applicants will be notified by email and a online meeting will be scheduled accordingly.

  • The fees is 2850 Euros per project/per person

  • To confirm your attendance a deposit fee of 1425 Euros is required. This fee is non-refundable as it covers our administrative expenses.

  • If you are unable to attend due to COVID-19 or a new virus, the non-refundable deposit will be used towards 'The Write Retreat - At Home' with online mentorship. 

  • It is possible to apply as an individual or as a team of co-writers & directors. However, there will be an additional charge for any additional person attending the retreat.

  • We offer scholarships based on merit. Write to us if you would like to apply. 

  • A good knowledge of English is essential to participate in the retreat as all script consultations and group discussions will be in English. 

  • Submitted materials should be in English or have English subtitles/translation. 

  • The retreat is located in Campanet, 45 minutes from Palma De Mallorca, Spain. There are direct flights from all main European cities to Palma De Mallorca airport (PMI) ​​
